About Willow Glen Kennels
Jasper and Autumn
Willow Glen Kennels is located in Northern Colorado and Northern California.  It is comprised of me, my two GSPs, and my father, Rob and his partner, Toby Embry, and their GSP and Weim.  Our start was in Weimaraners, but my focus at this time is the German Shorthaired Pointer.

I got my start in dogs from a very young age, having grown up with a toy poodle and a cocker spaniel.  My love of animals transferred itself into my professional life when I graduated in the summer of 2007 with a degree in veterinary technology.  I worked at VCA Fort Collins Animal Hospital, a clinic specializing in reproduction, before realizing that my true calling was in human medicine.  I am currently working on my bachelor's degree in nursing at the Univeristy of Northern Colorado.

My family became involved in the world of dog shows when we acquired our first Weimaraner in 2000.  Sophie introduced us to the wonderful world of showing, and showed me where my true passion lies.  In 2001, Sophie decided she needed a friend, and our handler just happened to have a litter of GSPs, thus our beginnings in the shorthair community.  CH Rendition's April Fool, aka April (having been born on April 1st) joined our household and my life has been changed ever since.  April's first and only litter was born in January 2004 and that is where I met Jasper, the dog of my dreams.  He is my constant companion and I can't imagine life without him.  In 2004 we sadly lost Sophie to renal failure at the young age of 4; she will forever be missed.  Since then we have added a new Weim, Sara, who is a bundle of energy and brings adventure to our lives.  In April of 2008, Autumn joined my household, giving Jasper the company he has missed since I moved from the bay area to northern Colorado in 2004.  We enjoy our visits back home in CA every year when all of the dogs get together and it's like we never left.

My goal is to breed healthy, happy dogs who make excellent family pets.  I believe that health and temperament should be the foundation of any good breeding program.  You can have a dog that looks great on the outside but if he doesn't have a stable temperament and get along with people or other pets, what kind of life will he have?  The health screenings we do including OFA hips, CERF, OFA cardiac, and cone degeneration.  I am not in this alone and would like to thank my mentors, Kathi Boyd of Rendition GSPs, Carol Chadwick of Northwood Mountain Kennels, and Karen Rooks-Nauer and David Nauer of Voyager GSPs.  Without these wonderful people, I would be lost in the dark.

I am currently a member in good standing with the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America (since 2004) and the Mile High Sporting Dog Fanciers Club (since 2008).  In addition, my father is also a member in good standing with the Weimaraner Club of America (since 2000) and the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America (since 2001).
