We carefully screen all prospective puppy buyers with the hope of assuring that all of our dogs will end up in lifelong, caring homes. We require that all buyers sign and agree to a contract of sale based on whether the puppy is a show prospect or going to a pet home.
All puppy buyers agree that if for any reason you decide that you are unable or unwilling to keep your dog, the dog will get returned to us, the breeders. We do not want to see any of our dogs end up in a shelter. Our dogs must be family dogs first. Our dogs must not live outside, but be indoor family dogs. We will NOT sell to anyone who is an agent, who is acting as an agent, or to a pet store. The buyer agrees that the dog will NEVER be tied up or chained outside. The buyer agrees that the dog shall NOT be trained to fight or used for attack purposes. The buyer must also agree that the dog will not be allowed to roam free and will never be transported in the back of a truck unless riding in a properly secured dog kennel.
For show prospects:
All show prospects are sold on a co-ownership, unless another agreement is made. We cannot guarantee that a puppy sold as a show prospect will indeed turn into a dog with success in the dog show ring. We evaluate the litter at 7 weeks of age but cannot see into the future.
For non-show puppies:
First, there is nothing wrong with a "pet" quality puppy. That term suggests that there is something inferior about the dog, which there is not. Breeders and exhibitors are looking for the "best" example of the breed to show and not every puppy meets those requirements. For instance, a Weimaraner with a white spot other than on the chest is a disqualification in the show ring. This does not affect the dog in any other way but appearance. This dog has all of the positive attributes of the Weimaraner breed including their wonderful personality. However, we do have some requirements for non-show homes.
All non-show quality dogs will be sold on a mandatory spay/neuter contract with an AKC limited registration. This ensures that if not spayed or neutered, all future puppies are ineligible for AKC registration. We may require proof of spay/neuter prior to releasing AKC registration papers.
Our responsibility as the breeder:
We require that both parents of the litter have at minimum -
-been registered with the AKC -been cleared of hip dysplasia, either with an OFA rating of Good or Excellent, or Penn-Hip cleared -proven their worth of being bred by completing their AKC championship or are major-pointed towards their championship -have a stable temperament -are healthy, intelligent, and have shown birdiness
A NON-refundable deposit of $200 is required to reserve one of our puppies. The balance is due at the time of delivery. While we will post weekly photos of the puppies, we do not evaluate the litter until 7 weeks of age, so we will not be able to identify firmly which puppies are eligible to go to show homes and which are not. Ultimately, we will decide which puppy, based on temperament, is right for you.
All puppies will have had their tails docked and dewclaws removed. They will also come with their first round of puppy vaccinations and be dewormed. All puppies are certified to be healthy and free from known congenital health abnormalities. We request that all puppies see a vet within 72 hours of sale. If any health problems are discovered at this visit and are deemed unacceptable by the puppy buyer, we will take back the puppy and refund the purchase price.
We will be available for the lifetime of the dog - to answer questions, help with any issues you may have, and be the dog's extended family.
